The combat medics’ evacuation crews need means that will help the military avoid hypothermia in cold weather conditions, providing them with appropriate level of medical care.
Aiding wounded people in cold weather becomes more difficult and requires additional resources. The main challenge is the risk of hypothermia, which is a life-threatening condition in which body temperature drops below the indicators necessary for the normal functioning of the organism. During winter period at low temperatures this risk increases significantly, especially for the wounded with blood loss, since the body loses heat along with blood.
This condition triggers negative body processes that are difficult to reverse. That is why preventing hypothermia is extremely important.
The following tools help combat medics effectively provide assistance to the wounded, who are at risk of developing or already developed hypothermia:
Emergency (Reflective) Blankets: a passive ****hypothermia preventer that averts further heat loss of the injured.
Active thermal blankets: systems with heat-reflecting and heating elements that allow to actively warm the wounded.
Chemical Warmers: additional means of rewarming, useful both when treating the wounded and preventing combatants from cooling.
Heaters of infusion solutions: Infusion heaters and special car refrigerators with heating ensure the maintenance of necessary temperature of solutions administered intravenously to the wounded, preventing hypothermia.

During the fundraising “Winter 3.0 - warm yours!” we have managed to collect UAH 513 628,25.
These funds were used to purchase:
Thanks to these resources the combat medics will be able to effectively face winter challenges, and the military will receive proper medical care in critical conditions.
